Vetting Works?

Obama also said “the fact that there were some who voiced doubts about this approach was invaluable, because it meant the plan was sharper, it meant that we had thought through all of our options.” NYT

 I really, really have to get back to work on a piece I have been thinking about since my time in the Pentagon, and President Obama has reminded me to get my act in gear--that a competitive marketplace of ideas within the government is a good thing, that bureaucratic politics is not always a bad thing.

Anyhow, that is for later this summer, two papers to go before I get to that one.  Oy.
